Triage = the acuity of the action the question is actually asking for, not the drama of the scene. Watch for traps: a frightening presentation can ask about a low-acuity, long-term step.
🟢 Lowest (1): routine visits, preventive care, minor needs (e.g., contraception).
🟡 Mid (2): chronic — genetic, autoimmune, familial, medication management, psychiatric, OB-GYN, allergies.
🟠 High (3): acute — lab derangements, bleeding, arrhythmia, high-risk pregnancy, severe allergy, SI.
🔴 Highest (4): unstable — needs treatment now (airway, ventilation, fluids, emergent meds/surgery).
